A world without pythons would be so simple

چکیده
Abstract We show that bulk operators lying between the outermost extremal surface and asymptotic boundary admit a simple reconstruction in classical limit. This is converse of Python’s lunch conjecture, which proposes with support minimal (quantum) surfaces—e.g. interior Hawking partners—are highly complex. Our procedure for reconstructing this ‘simple wedge’ based on HKLL construction, but uses causal propagation perturbed conditions Lorentzian timefolds to expand wedge as far surface. As corollary, we establish Simple Entropy proposal holographic dual area marginally trapped well similar find particular coarse-grained CFT state, obtained via averaging over all possible lunches. An efficient quantum circuit converts state into state’ indistinguishable finite time from local modular Hamiltonian. Under certain circumstances, Hamiltonian generates an exactly flow; interpret result black hole uniqueness.

Where Would We Be Without Counterfactuals?
One hundred years ago this Sunday, on November th, , Bertrand Russell delivered the Inaugural Address to the Aristotelian Society’s thirty-fourth session – it was Russell’s second year as President. His lecture was entitled ‘On the Notion of Cause’, and as the Proceedings here note, a discussion followed in which a number of members took part. Outside the Aristotelian Society, the discussion co...
متن کاملDiscovery without a 'logic' would be a miracle
Scientists routinely solve the problem of supplementing one’s store of variables with new theoretical posits that can explain the previously inexplicable. The banality of success at this task obscures a remarkable fact. Generating hypotheses that contain novel variables and accurately project over a limited amount of additional data is so difficult—the space of possibilities so vast—that succee...

This is of course impossible, but Gould’s thought experiment is a useful conceptual exercise which brings out key issues of determinism versus randomness in history. More broadly, it can be illuminating to ponder all kinds of implausible and radical scenarios, in effect bracketing the real world with visions of possible worlds. What would our world now be like if, at some time in the past, a ma...

Judges face difficult choices when the birth and genetic mothers of a child are separate people who dispute maternal access; the views of the general population may help them. Fifty women were asked whether, if they were infertile and could have only one child, they would prefer to be birth mothers (to carry a baby which was not genetically theirs) or genetic mothers (to have another woman carr...

Would global patent protection be too weak without international coordination? Would it be too strong with the international coordination mandated by the TRIPS agreement (Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights)? I try to answer these questions using a model of patent-setting game between governments. I introduce firm-biased government preferences and trade barriers, ...
